Studied law and philosophy at the Jagiellonian University, Cracow.
1973-2005 member of the Chair of Philosophy at the Cracow Economic University. 1999-2004 professor of social and political philosophy at the International Academy of Philosophy in Liechtenstein. 2005-2015 professor of philosophy, Institute of European Studies, Jagiellonian University, Cracow. 2015 retired. As a visiting professor taught courses at the universities in Trento, Graz, Fribourg, Santiago de Chile, Ciudad de Mexico, Lviv.
