We invite you to register for the EUCROSS Final Conference "Contestation and Polarization in Global Governance: European Responses in Post-Corona Times".
- Date: Fri, February 26, 2021
- Time: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM CET
The profound structural transformation and diffusion of power at the international level has generated concerns about the viability of the international order that emerged after the end of World War II. The European Union, whose existence depends on multilateralism as well as liberal norms and values, has been faced with both internal and external challenges over the last years. On the one hand, EUCROSS' closing conference will focus on the state of global order, global governance and its contestation, and at the role major powers like the U.S., China and Russia have played in entrenching polarization. On the other hand, the European Union's responses to such considerable shifts will be carefully analyzed, aiming to detect continuity and change of the EU's orientations and strategic objectives.
This conference welcomes several leading academics and experienced practitioners, who will share their insights across two thematic panels and a keynote session. The keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof. Miles Kahler from American University. Programme details are below.
