We would like to share with you an excellent opportunity to get a part-time job for the summer.
The visiting scholar from Cornell University is looking for a Polish-speaking undergraduate student (with good command of English, too) in our department who may be interested in working as a research assistant. Ms Frances Cayton would gladly compensate you for your time.
The job is to assist with interviews (in Polish) with civil society organizations for a project looking at historical memory and polarization. In some cases, you may carry out interviews yourselves. In other instances, you may join Ms Cayton in interviews to aid with translation. You may also do some research with secondary sources. The time frame would be over the course of the summer, so between June and September. It would be for a total of between 15 to 30 hours, depending on student interest and availability. It will be ideal if you are based in Krakow, though you could also be remote from other major cities in Poland. Ms Cayton will be elsewhere in Poland over the rest of the summer, so access to the internet and the ability to get in touch over Zoom would be expected. There are no additional requirements, although an interest in civil society and social movements is a plus.
