Reflecting on the Impact: Addressing LGBTQIA+ Disinformation - Insights from the #RADAR Project Event
Our expert panel, featuring specialists from diverse academic backgrounds, delved into some crucial topics. They explored the nature of disinformation, its political implications, the psychology behind its acceptance, the role universities play in providing safe spaces, and the main challenges in combatting disinformation.
Our wonderful audience, young individuals coming from 16 different countries, added their voices to the dialogue. They shared personal stories, shedding light on the impact of disinformation and discrimination. These voices carried beyond the EU borders, resonating in places like Georgia and China, where LGBTQIA+ rights are entangled in political complexities. A resounding call was made for stronger EU foreign policy support.
After the panel, discussions continued in smaller groups during our Youth Lab, where participants connected and explored these critical topics further. They were guided by experts from
Demagog, gaining insights on how to identify and combat LGBTQIA+ disinformation. The output? Policy recommendations for EU policymakers to make a meaningful impact.

What an insightful day we had on October 6, 2023. Our Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in collaboration with TEPSA The Trans European Policy Studies Association, came together to host an event addressing LGBTQIA+ disinformation as part of the #RADAR project.
