Organization of the academic year 2021/22

Dear Current and Prospective Students,

We would like to inform you that on May 24, 2021, Regulation No. 53 of the Rector of the Jagiellonian University on the rules for the organization of the academic year 2021/22 was published.

According to it, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University allows the possibility of returning to the stationary mode of teaching and conducting classes in classrooms starting from October 2021, with the claim that the details will be decided by the Dean of each Faculty.

Therefore, the Directorate of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University would like to encourage our entire student community to consider the possibility of vaccination against Covid -19 if you have such an option.

We are now facing a great chance of returning to normal life, and it depends a lot on our responsibility. There are no doubts that distance learning does not replace face-to-face contacts, but our deliberate choice to vaccinate might help to get back to them.
The decision to return to the classrooms carries certain risks, but the vaccination might minimalize the possibility of serious health consequences. We hope you will follow the example of ISE lecturers and staff, who have already been vaccinated.

We look forward to seeing you all in Kraków in fall 2021! Stay safe and healthy!

Mirosław Natanek, PhD
Acting Director of the Institute of European Studies, Jagiellonian University
