Dear Students,
We hope that you are doing well and that you managed to get to know each other and establish good contacts. We're happy to announce that the time has come to choose a Student Representatives for our English-taught programmes for the academic year of 2022/2023.
We kindly ask students who are interested in being representatives to declare their candidacies by 21 November 2022. We will then organize an online meeting with candidates where they will be able to give short presentations about themselves (5 minutes) and answer the questions from the programme students.
Meeting with candidates for the representative will take place on MsTeams.
The student rep will be elected after the meetings with candidates by filling out an online form. We strongly encourage all IES students to vote!
Student Representative Role & Responsibilities:
This role is a crucial link between the Institute and the students. Each representative should be aware of any issues concerning International Students and be pro-active in bringing appropriate issues.
Responsibilities:
- gather and communicate views from your peers on various aspects of your studies;
- help to organize events at the Institute (i.a X-mas party, film screenings etc.);
- help with social media management;
- provide feedback on aspects of your studies that your classmates feel work well, and which might then be shared as good practice, as well as any concerns and issues they have which might negatively affect the student experience.
The overall aim of having student representative is to improve the experience of current and future students. After the representative are selected, we will arrange an online meeting, where we'll explain in more detail your duties and upcoming plans.
Student Representative is required to be:
- approachable
- confident
- able to communicate with students and staff effectively
- a good listener
- able to put across opinions and feedback honestly and diplomatically
The role of a Student Representative will enable the student to:
- develop leadership as well as managerial skills;
- strengthen communication skills;
